The roots of salsa lie in the Cuban Son, a music style that has it’s roots in the eastern part of Cuba in the twenties of the last century. Son is mix of Spanish and African music and rhythms. Cuba has always been trendsetting in creating new rhythms. De Cuban salsa is characterized by speed, rotations and complex footwork. This master class is a introduction to the swinging world of Salsa.

Teacher Saro Silva
The salsa workshop will be taught by Saro Silva, one of the dancers of DanzAbierta. She studied modern dance and folklore at the national School of Dance and the Superior Institut of Arts in Cuba.
