The Cuban group DanzAbierta will perform MalSon at the Holland Dance Festival 2012. This piece  confronts the spectator with the uncertainties of life today in Cuba, showing not only the joyful side of Cubans’ life, but also the melancholy side. The work is based to a large extent on traditional and contemporary forms of music, and on the Cuban Son in particular. The masterclass begins with a warming up and teaches a part of the choreography of MalSon.

In 1988, Marianela Boán founded DanzAbierta, and began to mix different theater styles, She uses a language that breaks with the limits of pure movement, reaching out to other forms of artistic expression such as theater, visual arts, music and song, always demanding from the dancers the full development of all expressive channels. She calls her style "polluted dance". De masterclass will be thaught by Susana Pous, de choreographer of MalSon.
